Tuscarawas council discusses violation notice from Ohio EPA

May 26 meeting

KEY ACTION The first reading was held on two separate pay ordinances: One ordinance is an amended pay ordinance for the employees of the village the second is an amended pay ordinance for the elected position of mayor of the Village of Tuscarawas.

DISCUSSION Reviewed a copy of a Notice of Violation from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency regarding a complaint the agency received about noxious odor coming from the wastewater treatment plant. Mayor Dana Moore told council that when the weather warms up as quickly as it did this year, the odor is always worse. Mike Heil has informed the EPA about what steps are being taken to remedy the situation. A new aeration system that is being planned should also help with this issue.
