Tuscarawas Philharmonic to hold holiday concerts

The Tuscarawas Philharmonic will hold three holiday concerts.

The children’s choir will perform for free at 3 p.m. Dec. 4 in the Dover High School auditorium, 520 N. Walnut St., featuring guest artist The Kodachrome Babies. The choir will be directed by Laura Barkett and accompanied by Grace Pauley.

The Tuscarawas Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Handel’s “Messiah” for free at 3 p.m. Dec. 5 in the Dover High School auditorium. The orchestra will be directed by Eric Benjamin and joined by the Tuscarawas Philharmonic Adult Choir and Kent State University Tuscarawas University Choir.

“Memories and Dreams — A Yuletide Celebration” will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at the KSU Performing Arts Center, 330 University Drive NE, New Philadelphia. The show will feature the setting of Dylan Thomas’ classic Christmas memoir with Richard Travers narrating. The Dover High School Treble Choir, Tuscarawas Philharmonic Children’s Chorus and The Ars Nova Chorus perform with a welcome sing-along from the audience.
