In celebration of its 50th season, the Prentice Concert Chorale will present the premiere of "Requiem of Hope," a non-traditional mass for chorus, soloist and orchestra, intertwining Native American spirituality with Christian faith, composed by C.G. Walden III, with lyrics by Bishop Steven Charleston. Soloists will be Krista Adams Santilli, soprano, and Chris Withrow, bass. "Frontieres sans Frontieres": Performed by the UA Department of Theatre and Dance, $15 general, $10 for students, Allen Bales Theatre. In Phillip Howze's play, Win is a dexterous young waif trying to survive in a war-torn country and struggling to provide for her two younger siblings. Living in a crude, makeshift shelter and adapting themselves to a harsh life on the streets, doors begin to open for them through the appearance of tourists and other outsiders. Will the prospects of education and other temptations of the civilized world be enough to entice these siblings away from the streets? Or will they remain true to the only life they’ve ever known? 14th Druid City Arts Festival: Free and family-friendly,, 5-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Government Plaza, 2106 Sixth St., downtown Tuscaloosa, adjacent to the parking deck. More than 75 local artists and craftspeople will display work in a variety of media, such as clay, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, photography, sculpture, and wood working. There will also be music, activities for kids, educational demonstrations, and food and drink for sale, including a beer garden. Mobile vendors on Friday include Big Tasty, BobaMania, Cheese Louise, I Love Juice Bar, La Mexicana and Urban Cookhouse; mobile vendors on Saturday include Big Tasty, BobaMania, Cheese Louise, I Love Juice Bar, La Mexicana, T-town Snow and Kool Moe’s Ice Kream.

The kids' zone will feature face-painting, an inflatable bounce house and slide from Fun Factory, a costume/photo station hosted by The Actor’s Charitable Theatre will have a costume/photo station, and Tuscaloosa Children’s Theatre activities tied to its spring show, “Matilda Jr.” The Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra will offer an instrument petting zoo. Hand in Paw, a nonprofit animal-assisted therapy provider, will have an information booth, and the West Alabama Walk to End Alzheimer’s will have a handprint garden activity.
