"Into the Woods": Stephen Sondheim/James Lapine musical, performed by the UA Department of Theatre and Dance, Marian Gallaway Theatre, Rowand-Johnson Hall on campus. Characters from fairytales meet and mix in and out of the woods, and find out what comes after ever-after, happily or not; ultimately everyone decides for themselves what's right, and what's good. Hosted by Tuscaloosa locals the Bonsai Guys, this hourlong workshop in bonsai-tree-making will include each participant's selection of a tree and pot, all potting materials, and a pint of beer or glass of wine.

An evening with Alabama Poet Laureate Ashley M. Jones: 7-8:30 p.m., free and open to the public, Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center, 620 Greensboro Ave. Jones will read a selection of her work and answer audience questions. Copies of her books will be available for purchase and signing.
