Grace Yukich and Mark Hughes Cobb: 7-9 p.m., Loosa Brews, 412 20th Ave., Tuscaloosa, night one of the Hang Loosa Holiday Series, with acoustic music in the front living room area. Yukich, a UA grad and Quinnipiac University professor, has a new album out, "Wisteria." She's also a member of New Haven, Conn. punk trio Corpse Flower. Cobb's a Tuscaloosa singer-songwriter with groups including The Corvairs, The Crying Jags, The Simpletones, The Infinite Monkey Typing Pool, The Simpletones, The Rude Mechanicals Mass Choir and Combined Orchestra, MHC and The Biscuit Cannons, and others. Emma Caroline: 7-9 p.m., Loosa Brews, night two of the Hang Loosa Holiday Series, with acoustic music in the front living room area, at 412 20th Ave., Tuscaloosa. Tuscaloosa native Emma Caroline Warren was a member of Team Blake in 2021, on Season 20 of NBC's "The Voice." Based on her blind audition, both Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson, mentor-judges on the show, spun their chairs, wishing to work with the singer-songwriter, who goes professionally by Emma Caroline. The 2013 Tuscaloosa Academy graduate has been writing and singing songs since high school. Even before "The Voice," she'd played coffeeshops and churches, and released an EP. Holidays on the Plaza: Portable ice-skating rink and more than 250 decorated-tree Tinsel Trail at 5-acre Government Plaza, 2106 Sixth St., through Jan. 16. Private parties and other holiday-related events will occur some weeks. Walking the Tinsel Trail is free, but passes are required to use the rink. Daily passes, including skate rental, are $15. A season pass is $85. Tuesdays will be Family Skate Day, when the pass goes down to $12 each. Retired and active duty military pay $12. Ice-skating will be closed Saturday, Christmas Eve, and Sunday, Christmas Day. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the last day of the event, Jan. 16, passes will be $10. www.holidaysontheplaza.com.

DEC. 31: NYE Let's Glow 2023 party at The Lookout Rooftop Bar, on top of Hotel Indigo Tuscaloosa, 111 Greensboro Ave. Package includes live music by Carroline Shines and the Impulse, a champagne toast during the countdown, and a breakfast buffet served after midnight. Doors open at 7. Appetizer menu will be available until midnight. Tickets are $30 per person, $50 per couple. All attendees must be 21 and older.
