TV channel, kickoff time set for South Carolina’s football game vs. Missouri

The kickoff time and TV channel for South Carolina’s next football game are set.

The Gamecocks play the Missouri Tigers on the road at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium, it was announced Monday. The game will be televised on SEC Network.

South Carolina (2-3, 1-2 SEC) and Missouri (5-1, 1-1) have met 13 times since 1979, with the Tigers leading the Gamecocks 8-5 in the series (6-5 in conference matchups). Missouri has won the last four games against USC after losing three in a row from 2016-18. South Carolina is 2-3 against the Tigers on the road, while the series is tied at Williams-Brice.

The Gamecocks play Florida for homecoming this Saturday after their open week. USC suffered a 41-20 loss at Tennessee on Sept. 30. The Volunteers became the first group to limit Xavier Legette and also exploited the Gamecock defense’s shortcomings.

The Tigers suffered their first loss of the season over the weekend to LSU. LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels led his team to a victory with 32 second-half points (including two touchdowns in the final three minutes) in their 49-39, come-from-behind victory.

This weekend, Missouri will travel to Lexington to take on Kentucky.

For South Carolina, the Missouri trip represents the first of back-to-back road games. After that, USC is home for the final four games of the season.
