“The Princess” debut, 8 p.m., HBO. This feels like a wonderfully mismatched triple-feature. HBO’s new Diana documentary is surrounded by Oscar-winning performances in terrific 2021 films. At 5:30 p.m., Will Smith is an unstoppable tennis dad in “King Richard”; at 10, Ariana DeBose is a potent Anita in Steven Spielberg’s superb “West Side Story.”
“A Streetcar Named Desire,” 8 p.m. ET, Turner Classic Movies. Then again, if you’re looking for Oscar-winning performances, this film should always be at the top. Tennessee Williams’ play ripples with passionate and pained people. In the lead movie roles, Vivien Leigh won an Oscar and Marlon Brando was nominated; in support, Kim Hunter and Karl Malden both won.
“NCIS,” 8 p.m., CBS. A Navy reservist’s body is found in a target car on a shooting range; foul play is expected. That’s followed at 9 by “NCIS: Hawaii,” with Kai going undercover as a chef in a restaurant that’s linked to a crime kingpin. Let’s hope Kai knows something about food.
“$100,000 Pyramid,” 10 p.m., ABC. Lindsey Vonn, the skiing champion, facers comedian Russell Peters. Then it’s two comedy actors with “Seinfeld” links — Jason Alexander and Wayne Knight. It’s a rerun, following “America’s Funniest Home Videos” reruns at 8 and 9.
“Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. Natasha Lyonne, the “Russian Doll” star, hosts this rerun. The music guest is Japanese Breakfast.
