ELLICOTT CITY, MD — The Foreign Born Information and Referral Network will sponsor Twin Freedoms Day June 20 ahead of the Fourth of July. Twin Freedoms Day will focus on "freedom from illness" and "freedom from hunger."
On Twin Freedoms Day, FIRN will provide an estimated 150 immigrant families with coronavirus testing and food. The Ellicott City Church of Latter-day Saints of Jesus Christ will be hosting the event where participants will remain in their cars while being tested and picking up food. The Church of Latter-day Saints of Jesus Christ is located at 4100 St. John’s Lane near Rt. 100 and Montgomery Road.
FIRN is a nonprofit organization in Howard County that helps immigrants, refugees, asylees and other foreign-born individuals by providing information and access to community resources and opportunities. FIRN also provides immigration counseling, interpreting and translation services, information and referrals, and a variety of workshops.
