The Twinsburg City School District is kicking off a search for a new leader of the high school football program, following the announcement of varsity coach Mike Bell's resignation on Friday.

"Coach Bell has led the Tiger football program for the past seven years," said Superintendent Kathi Powers in a news release announcing the resignation. "His dedication to our student-athletes as well as to their families is a mark of his fine character and commitment to our school community."

The Tigers finished their 2021 season with a 1-9 record. Bell was not available for comment at press time.

High school principal Brian Linn shared, "I am grateful to Coach Bell for the time, energy, and dedication he has given to the Twinsburg football program over the course of his seven-year coaching career here at THS. Coach Bell is a man of strong character, always conducting himself with dignity and class, and has been a positive role model for our football players both on and off the field."

"I can't thank Coach Bell enough for the seven seasons he has been our head football coach. His character is second to none, and I will be forever grateful for what he has done for the football program and entire school community," said athletic director/coordinator of K-12 student activities Brian Fantone.

Powers said Bell will remain with the district as a social studies teacher at Twinsburg High School.

"We are very grateful to Coach Bell for all he has done for our school family during his tenure as varsity head football coach at Twinsburg High School," said Powers.
