Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is looking to hire crypto engineers who could be paid in Bitcoin

Twitter and Square CEO Jack Dorsey is looking to hire crypto engineers to work on Square’s Cash App – and they could be paid in Bitcoin.

Dorsey posted a tweet outlining how his company is on the lookout for fresh talent to work full time on open source contributions to the Bitcoin and crypto ecosystem.

The job would allow successful applicants to work from anywhere and report directly to Dorsey himself. They could even be paid in Bitcoin for their services.

In a subsequent tweet, Dorsey reveals how this will be Square’s first open source initiative independent of its business objectives.

“These folks will focus entirely on what’s best for the crypto community and individual economic empowerment, not on Square’s commercial interests,” Dorsey writes.

Making headlines

Jack Dorsey has been in the crypto headlines for a number of weeks now. Earlier this year, he appeared on an episode of Joe Rogan’s podcast and discussed his views on cryptocurrency.

Dorsey commented: “I believe the internet will have a native currency and I don’t know if it’s Bitcoin. I think it will be (Bitcoin) given all the tests it’s been through and the principles behind it.”

On a different podcast, hosted by Marty Bent, Dorsey also revealed he had been purchasing as much Bitcoin as his weekly buy limit would permit on the Cash App.

Dorsey has even participated in the Lightning Torch relay which sees Lightning Network enthusiasts pass on a Lightning payment chain to other participants. Dorsey sent the torch over to Elizabeth Stark, CEO at Lightning Labs.

Regardless of the contradicting opinions surrounding Jack Dorsey, a well-known figure such as Dorsey should help bring more awareness to the crypto space.
