Twitter experiences widespread outage
Twitter was experiencing a widespread outage on Thursday evening.
“We know people are having trouble Tweeting and using Twitter,” the app said in a statement sent to the Daily News at 6:14 p.m. “We’re working to fix this issue as quickly as possible.”
Reports of difficulties using the social media network began to spike after 5 p.m., according to DownDetector, a service that tracks digital blackouts.
Twitter was down both on the website and the app. A majority of reports of issues logged by DownDetector were on the website.
On its status page, Twitter described an “active incident.”
