Twitter reacts to Armando Bacot returning to UNC for his fifth year
Finally, some good news for North Carolina Tar Heel fans. Armando Bacot announced he will use his last year of eligibility and return for one last season.
The news comes hours after Puff Johnson’s decision to hit the transfer portal, joining Justin McKoy, Tyler Nickel and Dontrez Styles. The timing could not be any better. Fans were starting to panic, wondering if there were more problems at North Carolina beyond the lack of bench usage.
Bacot has been the ideal leader since joining UNC in 2019. With all of the outside noise around the program, it would have been a huge blow to see the big man rocking different threads next season.
Despite Bacot’s return, pessimism is in the air. Caleb Love’s and RJ Davis’s futures remains uncertain. Also, fans are concerned if Bacot’s decision to return will result in another young player, such as Jalen Washington, hitting the transfer portal.
