Twitter users have come out in full force to defend Serena Williams after a critic spoke out against the tennis legend. The verified Twitter user, Mike Baggz, sparked the drama after he tweeted, “Serena Williams’s legacy would (have) been even more SOLIDIFIED if she married a Black American man.”

Williams married Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, who is white, in 2017. The couple share a 5-year-old daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

Many of Williams’ fans are now reminding the critic that her marriage doesn’t have anything to do with her legacy.

Baggz has been trying to make it in the rap industry for more than a decade. His YouTube channel has gained a total of 869 subscribers since it was established 11 years ago.

One online publication known as GMIXMAG describes Mike Baggz as a “talented and versatile artist most known for his rapping ability.” According to the site, the rapper created an “afrobeat banger” titled “Wah Yuh Dip Fah” in 2020.  The “banger” allegedly became the “number one afrobeat/ world record in the country soaring well past an astonishing 13 million streams,” according to the outlet.
