Menomonee Falls could be getting two apartment buildings near the downtown area of the village.

The proposed buildings would have both surface and enclosed parking for its residents.

Matt Carran, director of community development, said the project does not have to go before the village board because it fits the plan for the village development that village officials have already approved.

Carran said there has been interest in redevelopment in the area where the apartments are proposed.

"It is a great location," he said, noting that it is close to shopping, village amenities such as parks and the library and to downtown businesses.

Carran said that the timeline for construction and project completion have not been set yet.
