Two arrested in connection to Franklin Co. homicide

PRINCETON (KSNT) – Two individuals have been arrested in connection to a shooting death that happened in July 2023.

At 8:45 p.m. on July 28, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunfire in the 1800 block of John Brown Road in rural Franklin County. Nathan Boggs, 42, of Ottawa was found suffering from gunshot wounds. Boggs died at the scene.

On Jan. 25, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation announced a 33-year-old Jessica D. Smith from Ottawa and 41-year-old Timothy S. Corn from Ottawa were arrested in connection to the crime.

Corn was arrested at the Franklin County Courthouse on a warrant for first-degree murder and interference with law enforcement. Smith was arrested on the same charges in Quenemo. Both suspects were booked into the Franklin County Jail.
