Two arrested for drugs, firearms following search warrant

Oct. 25—Two suspects are facing numerous drug and firearm charges following a search warrant Wednesday in Meridian.

In a news release, Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun said members of the East Mississippi Drug Task Force, Lauderdale County SWAT team, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and Meridian Special Operations executed a search warrant in the 200 block of 43rd Avenue. The warrant yielded multiple firearms, drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Carlo Walker and Trish Trotter were arrested and booked into Lauderdale County Detention Center.

Walker was charged with:

—aggravated trafficking of ecstasy while in possession of firearms within 1,500 feet of a church;

—trafficking methamphetamine while in possession of firearms within 1,500 feet of a church;

—trafficking spice while in possession of firearms within 1,500 feet of a church;

—possession of cocaine with intent to distribute while in possession of firearms within 1,500 feet of a church;

—possession of Xanax with intent to distribute while in possession of firearms within 1,500 feet of a church;

—possession of marijuana of an ounce with intent to distribute while in possession of firearms within 1,500 feet of a church; and,

—sale of methamphetamine within 1,500 feet of a church.

Trotter was also charged with:

—aggravated trafficking of ecstasy while in possession of firearms within 1,500 feet of a church;

—trafficking of ecstasy while in possession of firearms within 1,500 feet of a church;

—trafficking spice while in possession of firearms within 1,500 feet of a church;

—possession of cocaine with intent to distribute while in possession of firearms within 1,500 feet of a church;

—possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute while in possession of firearms within 1,500 feet of a church;

—possession of Xanax with intent to distribute while in possession of firearms within 1,500 feet of a church;

—possession of marijuana of an ounce with intent to distribute while in possession of firearms within 1,500 feet of a church; and,

—sale of methamphetamine within 1,500 feet of a church.

Bond for was set at $475,000 for each suspect.

In addition to the arrests, law enforcement confiscated 700 dosage units of ecstasy, more than an ounce of methamphetamine, more than 1.5 pounds of spice, three handguns, one AR rifle, a half ounce of fentanyl, more than two ounces of marijuana, a quarter ounce of cocaine and numerous baggies, scales, ammunition and magazines for various firearms.
