Two arrested after robbery at Natomas apartment complex, Sacramento police say
Two men were arrested Saturday night following a robbery at a Natomas apartment unit, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
In an email to The Sacramento Bee, Sacramento police spokesman Officer Karl Chan said that patrol officers were called to an apartment on the 2200 block of River Plaza Drive just before 10:15 p.m. on reports of an ongoing robbery.
Inside the apartment, a small gathering was disrupted by two men who entered, armed with what appeared to be firearms, and began robbing the apartment.
As officers approached, one suspect fled and was apprehended by police. A second suspect went into an adjoining apartment, which was also occupied. All occupants of the two units were able to leave, although some inside the first unit suffered minor injuries during the robbery.
As the second suspect accessed the attic of the apartment building, police called in SWAT officers and crisis negotiators. The suspect fled the building on foot and was caught by police.
A duffel bag containing stolen items, including drugs, was seized by police, and a replica gun was also found. Police investigators believe the robbery was an isolated incident.
The suspects are identified as Anthony Hill, 40, and Gary Bachelor, 33. Both were booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail and face charges including burglary, false imprisonment, assault and conspiracy.
Hill faces an additional charge of possession of a high-capacity magazine, while Bachelor has an outstanding warrant out of Napa County, according to Sacramento County Jail records.
Hill is ineligible for bail. Bachelor’s bail has been set at $275,000. Both are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
