Two big-name comedians playing separate shows in Modesto. See who, where and when

You can catch a pair of popular comedians at separate shows in Modesto, with Paul Rodriguez playing the State Theatre and Felipe Esparza the Gallo Center. There’s plenty of other entertainment coming up from Sept. 30-Oct. 6. Here’s a look at just some of what’s planned.

Paul Rodriquez

Comedian Paul Rodriguez has been making audiences laugh for nearly three decades with humor that blends his Latin heritage with the American dream. The popular comic brings his show to the State Theatre in Modesto.

Felipe Esparza

Comedian Felipe Esparza has come a long way since winning NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” in 2010. He’s had three stand-up specials on Netflix and HBO and has sold out tour dates all over the country. He’ll play at the Gallo Center. Limited tickets were available.

Edible Extravaganza

The Center for Human Services presents its annual fundraiser at Modesto Centre Plaza. The event will feature more than 30 of the region’s restaurants, breweries, vintners, bakeries and growers. There also will be live music.

Los Lonely Boys

The group Los Lonely Boys is set to play a show at Turlock Community Theatre. The members play a mix of rock, Texas blues, brown-eyed soul, country and Tejano music.

Get The Led Out

Get The Led Out brings its Led Zeppelin tribute to the Gallo Center in Modesto. The group consists of six multi-instrument musicians. GTLO re-creates Zeppelin songs “with the studio overdubs that Zeppelin themselves never performed. When you hear three guitars on the album, GTLO delivers three guitarists on stage,” according to the Gallo Center website.

“The Graduate”

Sierra Repertory Theatre presents the classic tale of “The Graduate.” It’s the story of a young man in 1960s California whose “disastrous sexual odyssey is brought vividly to life in this exciting new adaptation,” according to a press release from SRT.
