Two bodies found in burning car near Bronx golf course
Two bodies were found in a burning car near a Bronx golf course early Monday, authorities said.
Firefighters made the startling discovery after responding to a 4:16 a.m. 911 call about a car on fire on Shore Road near Pelham Split Rock Golf Course in Pelham Bay Park. The age and gender of each victim found dead inside the car — one in the driver’s seat the other in the front passenger seat — were not immediately clear.
Investigators are unsure if the deaths were criminal though police did note the car, a Honda Accord, was not involved in a collision.
An autopsy will determine the cause of death for both victims.
