Two for breakfast: Brody's and City Line in showdown for Best Breakfast Place label

Best Breakfast

Breakfast lovers in Central Massachusetts are facing a decision this week. And it's not the familiar "hot or iced?" inquiry about their coffee preference.

The search for the Best Breakfast Place in the region has come down to two: Brody's restaurant of Shrewsbury and City Line Diner of Worcester. Our unscientific poll entered its final, weeklong round Tuesday morning.

More than 110,000 votes were cast by readers in the Final Four round that saw Brody's top Tiny Tim's of Auburn and City Line outdo 122 Diner of Holden.

Voting is underway in the final round: Brody's vs. City Line. Voting ends at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Scroll down to vote.

In its matchup against Tiny Tim's, Brody's collected 67% of the 94,181 votes that were cast by readers. In the other matchup, City Line outdid 122 Diner by capturing 61% of the 16,488 total votes.

We've shaped the poll after our earlier Best Pizza and Best Ice Cream Stand contests. We're narrowing the field in a bracket format. We started with 16 restaurants (from reader nominations). Based on voting by readers, the field was cut to eight, then four, now to the final two.

Remember, this is an unscientific process, intended as fun, a departure from the sometimes edgy tone of the internet.
