Two car crash in Vernon leaves 3 injured

Jul. 13—VERNON — A two-car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Union and Ward Streets on Tuesday evening around 6 p.m. left one person in critical condition.

The sole occupant and operator of a 2012 Hyundai Accent was transported to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries, according to Lt. Robert Marra.

The operator and passenger of a 2013 BMW X5 were both transported to Rockville Hospital with minor injuries.

According to police, both vehicles were towed from the scene where the accident occurred at 6:10 p.m. The Vernon Police Department, with the assistance of Metro Traffic Services, are investigating the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
