DOHA, Qatar (WCMH) – Two central Ohio athletes have punched their tickets to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Ohio State announced that sophomore Lena Hentschel and her partner Jette Muller qualified for Paris after a sixth-place finish in the 3-meter synchronized dive at the World Aquatics Championships. The duo will represent Team Germany after finishing with an aggregate score of 273.93.

It is the second time Hentschel, who is from Berlin, has qualified for the Olympics. In the 2020 games at Tokyo, she won the bronze medal in the same event. She also became the eighth diver from Ohio State women’s swimming and diving to compete in the Olympic games.

The 3-meter synchronized finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics will take place on Saturday, July 27.
