Two Charlotte home sales surpass $5M, topping list of priciest sales in June

Charlotte’s luxury residential real estate market continued to pick up steam in June, as two homes in Mecklenburg County topped $5 million when selling last month.

The most expensive of those two homes sold for $5.25 million in Charlotte’s Highland Forest neighborhood, about 2 miles west of Matthews. Built in 2019 by Kingswood Custom Homes, that 7,491-square-foot residence houses five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and three half-bathrooms, according to listing details.

$6.25M home sale ranks as Mecklenburg County’s priciest in May

A fully glass, refrigerated wine display room off the home’s foyer is a focal point of its main level, as are a chandelier and curved staircase. A modern kitchen is equipped with a double island and rift white-oak cabinetry. The main-level primary suite includes heated floors and floating vanities in the bathroom and an oversized closet. The home also features a theater room and gym on the upper level.

It’s 1.76-acre lot includes a pool with a hot tub, waterfall, and firewall feature; a covered grilling pavilion and sitting area with a half-bathroom and outdoor shower; and two garages.

Mecklenburg County’s second-most expensive home sale in June carried a price of $5.1 million. It’s located on Colville Road in Charlotte’s Eastover neighborhood.

Originally built in 1981 for renowned Charlotte developer John Crosland Jr., who died in 2015, the home sits at 6,607 square feet and includes four bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms.

The white stucco home was designed with European influences, such as an open, Italian travertine foyer. It includes a built-in bar for entertaining and a vaulted ceiling in the family room, which connects to an open kitchen. An additional full apartment is above the attached three-car garage.

American City Business Leads, a division of CBJ parent company American City Business Journals, pulls Mecklenburg County’s top home deeds based on sale price each month. Additional details come from county real estate records, the listing brokerage and Realtor.com.

Homes featured in the monthly roundups represent the 10 most expensive residential sales recorded in the county. As has been the case since March, each of the 10 homes included in the roundup exceeded a sale price of $3 million in June.

The homes in the June roundup range in sale price from $3.5 million in south Charlotte’s Carmel Estates neighborhood to the $5.25 million transaction in Highland Forest. In addition to the neighborhoods already mentioned, the homes are located in Myers Park, Foxcroft and Old Foxcroft in Charlotte as well as The Peninsula area of Cornelius.
