Two 'dangerous' inmates, believed to be armed, escape Chester County Jail

Two inmates escaped the Chester County Jail Wednesday afternoon, according to a press release from U.S. Marshals, though one was soon captured.

According to the report, around 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aurelius Crayton, also known as Aurelius Watkins, along with David Billings, escaped from the Chester County Jail and stole a vehicle.

Billings was captured and is in custody after a pursuit, according to a social media posting by the city of Henderson Police Department at 5:15 p.m.

Both were considered to be "armed and dangerous."

While not much is known about Billings, Crayton has a "violent criminal history" and "should be considered armed and dangerous."

"Crayton has a long, violent criminal history including robbery, firearms, assault, narcotics and evading arrest," the report states.

Investigators believe Crayton could be in the Jackson area. He is described as a 40- year-old Black male, 6’3” and 235 pounds.

They each have ties to Chester, Madison, and Henderson counties and thought to have traveled together. Chester County is located southeast of Madison County.
