Two dead after crash involving tractor-trailer in Sodus

Two people are dead after a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a pickup in Sodus.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Route 104 and Ridge Road, New York State Police said.

Troopers said the tractor-trailer was traveling westbound on Route 104, while the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado pickup was heading north on Ridge Road. The pickup failed to stop at a red light, resulting in the crash with the tractor-trailer near the front passenger side, troopers said.

The driver of the pickup truck, John M. Crane, 59, of Williamson, and the passenger, John L. Crane, 37, of Sodus, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, John F. Mikac, 58, of Buffalo, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.
