Two motorcycle riders dead in crash in Marlboro involving three other vehicles

MARLBORO−A crash that involved five vehicles killed two motorcycle riders in the township late Monday night, authorities said.

The collision occurred in the northbound lanes of Route 18 near the intersection with Route 520, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said in a statement.

No details about how the crash happened have emerged.

Police arriving at the scene found a 2019 Hyundai Tucson, an SUV, a 2017 Subaru Impreza and a 2008 Mercedes-Benz 550, both sedans, and the two sport motorcycles - a 2005 Suzuki GSX and a 2001 Yamaha YZF, Santiago said.

The two riders died at the scene, he said.

The driver and the passenger of the Tucson were taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.
