Two dead, two injured in Wheaton Way wreck where vehicle crashed into building

Two men were killed and two seriously injured in a crash early Saturday when the car they were driving in crashed into a building on Wheaton Way in Bremerton.

Speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, reported at about 2 a.m. near Sheridan Road, according to a statement from the Bremerton Police Department.

The names of those involved were not released, but the statement said those involved in the crash range from 21 to about 26.

Investigators believe the vehicle was traveling north on Wheaton Way at a high rate of speed when the vehicle crossed into oncoming lanes and lost control.

Before the crash, the vehicle “went airborne” before hitting the building at 2825 Wheaton Way.

Two passengers were dead when officers arrived. The two others, including the driver, were flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment. Their conditions were not immediately available.

The roadway remained closed until 7:45 a.m.
