After two Doral police officers were shot, FHP warns of traffic jams you may want to avoid

Two police officers were shot in Doral Friday morning, and the more seriously injured officer was taken to Jackson’s Ryder Trauma Center.

As a result, drivers are finding themselves stuck in two traffic jams in different parts of town.

Drivers “should definitely avoid the area of the shooting,” said Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alex Camacho.

That would be Northwest 25th Street at 92nd Avenue near the Doral headquarters of Miami-Dade police.

County police also sent an alert about traffic in the area.

“Due to police activity, please avoid the area of Northwest 25th Street from 87th to 97th avenues in both directions. Roads leading to this location are also affected,” Miami-Dade police posted on Twitter.

Jackson Ryder area

But you also should avoid the area near Ryder Trauma and the University of Miami Hospital, around 1800 NW 10th Ave. in Miami. Traffic has reportedly backed up in the area.

Some services temporarily halted

Additionally, since there is an active police investigation near its headquarters several services are closed until further notice, police said in an alert. These services include backgrounds, fingerprints, records and additional services rendered at its HQ facility. The department’s Midwest District Station and Central Records Bureau are also closed until further notice.
