Two drownings reported in Oklahoma

Authorities reported two people died from drowning Saturday in Oklahoma.

One occurred around 12:31 p.m. on Lake Murray at the Cedar Cove in Carter County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Sam Callison, 39, of Yukon drowned while trying to help a child who was struggling in the water near a raft. The child was rescued, authorities said.

Callison's body was recovered Sunday morning about 85 yards south of North Shore of Cedar Cove, officials said.

Also, KFOR-TV reported a 19-year-old man drowned in the Cimarron River Saturday afternoon near Highway 33 and Highway 74.

No name had been given as of Saturday evening, the news station reported.
