Edison High School’s principal and an assistant principal have been placed on paid administrative leave, Stockton Unified School District officials confirmed.

Principal Chris Anderson was placed on paid administrative leave on Jan. 27, and Assistant Principal Christina Fugazi was placed on leave on March 24. District officials declined to say why they took those measures.

Kristi Lee, an assistant principal at Edison with 19 years of teaching experience at the school, is serving as acting principal, district spokesperson Melinda Meza said.

Fugazi is a longtime Stockton educator who has been assistant principal at Edison since 2021. Meza said the district is in the process of assigning Fugazi’s duties to other administrators in her absence.

Fugazi is fresh off an eight-year tenure on the Stockton City Council, most recently serving as vice mayor.

Edison is south Stockton's largest high school.
