Two ejected, sent to hospital after multi-vehicle crash

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating a two-car crash after two people were ejected and sent to the hospital.

According to the Stroud Area Regional Police Department, on Tuesday around 4:30 p.m., officers were called to the area of McConnell and Kane Street in Stroudsburg for a two-vehicle crash.

Police say the investigation into the crash showed a Chevy traveling at a high rate of speed on McConnell Street, failed to stop at a red light and hit a Toyota which was crossing McConnell.

Driver dies after hitting car in opposite lane

The Chevy rolled over multiple times before striking a utility pole, ejecting the driver and the front seat passenger, officers stated. Investigators reported the driver was trapped under the rear of the vehicle after being ejected and had to be extricated by firefighters.

The driver was taken to the hospital via helicopter and the passenger was taken via ambulance. Police note as of Wednesday both were listed in stable condition with multiple injuries.
