Two found dead in murder-suicide, police say

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Two people were found dead as the result of a murder-suicide in a northwest Las Vegas home Monday morning, police said.

According to a release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, reports of two people who were dead inside a home near the 4700 block of Torrey Pines Drive in northwest Las Vegas were received by dispatchers around 9:25 a.m. Officers were sent to the scene, where they found the two people, a man and a woman, described by police officials as “elderly.”

Investigators believe that the man shot the woman before turning the gun on himself. Police did not specify the ages of the individuals involved.

Officers from LVMPD and homicide detectives were on the scene Monday afternoon, completing their investigation. According to the release, the cause and manner of the people’s deaths, as well as their identities, would be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
