Two injured in Allen Township crash
ALLEN TOWNSHIP — Two Curtice residents were injured Tuesday afternoon in a rear-end motor vehicle crash in Allen Township in Ottawa County, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.
Patrol reports show that the crash occurred at around 3:37 p.m., when Ray E. Fredrickson, 90, of Curtice, slowed his 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo while travelling westbound on Ohio 579, near Fostoria Road. Mikenzie L Champion, 28, of Curtice, failed to maintain an assured clear distance while operating her 2008 Buick Lacrosse westbound behind the Fredrickson vehicle, striking it from behind, reports show.
Also occupying the Monte Carlo was Shirley Fredrickson, 87, of Curtice. Both Fredricksons were injured and transported to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center by Allen-Clay EMS.
Also assisting at the scene were Allen-Clay Joint Fire Department, Northwood Police Department, Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, Ohio Highway Patrol, Pat & Sons Towing and Ray's Towing.
