Two injured in Central Freeway pin-in accident

A major vehicle accident closed part of the freeway near the falls Saturday.

According to Wichita Falls Police Department public information officer, Jeff Hughes:

Shortly after 5:30 p.m., police and emergency medics responded to a pin-in accident on southbound Central Freeway near Scotland Park. A pickup was driving south on the freeway when it swerved, crossed all lanes of traffic, and struck the concrete barrier.

Witnesses told investigators that the front left quarter panel of the truck was possible struck by a trailer causing the accident. The 60-year-old driver was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and is in critical condition. A passenger was treated for minor injuries.
