Police looking for information on SUV after 2 teens fatally shot in Lynnwood
Two teenage boys died from their injuries after being shot at a Lynnwood park on July 14, a day after two other teens were shot in the same area of the city.
Police are now looking for information about an SUV that’s in police custody in connection with the shooting.
The shooting happened at around 9:15 p.m. at Spruce Park, a few blocks away from 164th Street Southwest, where two other teenagers were injured in a drive-by shooting the day before.
Investigators said preliminary information indicates that the shots were fired from a vehicle at the park on 36th Avenue West.
The two boys, ages 15 and 16 years old, were taken to the hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds. They later died from their injuries, according to Lynnwood police.
Police closed off the area, took crime scene photos and processed the scene, placing evidence markers and inspecting a car. Detectives interviewed witnesses who were at the park during the shooting.
On Monday, July 18, Lynnwood police released a photo of a vehicle believed to be associated with the shooting.
Police said the SUV was already in police custody and was being processed for evidence. The vehicle is a 1996 Chevy Tahoe with a distinctive black front fender and hood, a white body, and Washington license plate #CBP4384.
Detectives are requesting that anyone with information about the SUV, especially who was inside it on July 15, to contact Detective Russ Sattarov at 425-670-5633.
Detectives are also asking for businesses in the area to review any video they may have of the SUV.
