Two killed, three injured after shooting in Scotland, South Dakota

Two people were killed and three others injured after a shooting in a home Tuesday night in Scotland, according to the Department of Public Safety.

One person was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital with life-threatening injuries. The condition of the two other victims is unknown, according to the DPS, which provided information on behalf of the Bon Homme County Sheriff.

A man was taken into custody without incident by the county sheriff and local police, according to the DPS. The Highway Patrol and Division of Criminal Investigation are assisting.

The name of the man who was arrested has not been released.

Scotland has a population of 659 as of 2019 and is northwest of Yankton.
