Two killed in two-vehicle crash Tuesday night on U.S. 287 at Vermillion Road north of Longmont

Dec. 14—Two people died on scene and a third was transported to a Longmont hospital Tuesday night following a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 287 at Vermillion Road, just north of Longmont.

Colorado State Patrol Trooper Josh Lewis said the call came in at 7:17 p.m. as a head-on crash, although he said he could not confirm that the collision was head-on. Lewis said the two vehicles involved were a 2018 Hyundai sedan and 2009 Honda sedan, and that one of the vehicles rolled. He had no other information late Tuesday about the details of the crash or any information regarding the victims of the crash.

The one person who was transported from the scene was taken to Longs Peak Hospital in Longmont, he said.

As of 9:50 p.m., the highway remained closed at the intersection.
