Two killed in Wade on Saturday night, Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says

Two people were found dead of apparent gunshot wounds Saturday night in Wade when Cumberland County deputies responded to a report of an overdose, an official said.

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, the bodies were discovered when deputies arrived in the 5600 block of Sambo Jackson Road after someone reported at 9:32 p.m. that an individual had overdosed.

The preliminary investigation determined both people had been shot, a release said. Sgt. Mickey Locklear said no one was found overdosing. The names of the slain individuals are being withheld pending notification of next of kin, he said.
