CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA (WHTM) — The Department of Agriculture recently cited two different Chinese restaurants in the Midstate with a combined 22 violations, including rodent problems.

Cumberland County:

China Wok of Lemoyne (1200 Market Street)

  • According to the Department of Agriculture, this Chinese eatery had an inspection back on Monday, February 5, and was cited with 12 violations. The report says that this establishment had several raw animal foods that were stored above ready-to-eat foods in their walk-in cooler. Additionally, the restaurant had ready-to-eat foods that were being held for more than 24 hours and not being marked with a date. Furthermore, the inspector noted that they observed “too numerous to count” rodent droppings in the back storage area.

Lancaster County:

Grand China (156 Lancaster Avenue)

  • Back on Monday, February 5, this Chinese restaurant was found to be out of compliance and cited with 10 inspection violations. According to the inspector’s report, raw chicken was being stored above potatoes and carrots in the reach-in cooler. There were also ready-to-eat temperature-controlled foods, such as egg rolls, being held for more than 24 hours in the walk-in cooler without being marked with a date. Furthermore, the inspector discovered that this facility did not have a pest control program in place.
