Two Mason girls killed in Holt crash

Police are investigating after a man walked into McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital Friday afternoon with a gunshot wound.

DELHI TWP. — Two teen girls are dead after a crash in the early morning hours of Saturday.

Ingham County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to an automated crash alert notification near Sycamore and Schoolcraft streets in a neighborhood south of Holt Road and west of Cedar Street at about 3 a.m. Deputies found a vehicle that had struck two parked vehicles before crashing.

An 18-year-old male from Mason who deputies said was driving the vehicle was transported to Sparrow Hospital with serious injuries. Two 16-year-old girls, both from Mason, who were passengers in the vehicle died at the scene, the Sheriff's Office said in a release.

Deputies said speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.

Names of those involved in the crash were not released.

The Ingham Regional Crash Investigation Team investigated the crash and Ingham County Sheriff’s Office Victim’s Advocates assisted the families.
