Two men charged following Aliquippa shooting

ALIQUIPPA − Two city men, Trevaughn Maurice McCoy, 26, and Davonte Tashau Williams, 29, are each facing charges, including aggravated assault, as a result of a shooting incident on July 1.

State Police Trooper Jerel Smith said at approximately 11:15 p.m. July 1, the Aliquippa Police Department was dispatched to the 1200 block of Main Street for a report of two individuals shot.

According to the police report, as a result of a verbal altercation, McCoy brandished a firearm and shot a 29-year-old Aliquippa man, leading Williams and another individual to shoot McCoy, who was taken to an area hospital for treatment. No condition report was released on either injured man.

McCoy is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a prohibited firearm, carrying a firearm without a license and six counts of reckless endangerment.

Williams is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a prohibited firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, and five counts of reckless endangerment.

An arrest warrant is still active on McCoy, while Williams has been lodged in the Beaver County Jail on a $500,000 monetary bond. Charges on pending on the third involved individual, police said.
