Two men die in crash on U.S. 54

New Mexico State Police said two men died in a crash on U.S. Highway 54 on Saturday.

Around 7:41 p.m. police responded mile marker 98 in between Tularosa and Carrizozo where they found 40-year-old Alberto Dominguez Garcia from Albuquerque and Vaud Alonzo Burton, 82, of Ardmore, Oklahoma dead from injuries received in the crash.

According to police, the Honda driven by Garcia crossed the center lane and collided with Nissan driven by Burton.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, police said. They do not suspect alcohol as a factor in the crash.
