Two men shot, one fatally, outside Bronx party hall

One man was killed and a second wounded when a shooter sprayed bullets at a crowd outside a Bronx party hall early Sunday, cops said.

The victims were standing in a group outside Casa Bella Hall on E. 187th St. near Hughes Ave. in Belmont when the killer fired off about five shots about 1:45 a.m., cops said.

The 66-year-old manager of Casa Bella Hall, who gave his name just as Jairo, said an event was wrapping up when the unrelated shooting broke out outside.

“Everybody was already leaving,” Jairo said. “And I turned back and people were running back here. They were running scared. People were running like crazy. I was there and they threw me on the floor.”

Outside, a 21-year-old man was struck in the chest while a 22-year-old man was blasted in the buttocks. Both managed to run around the corner before collapsing on Hughes Ave., cops said.

Medics took both men to St. Barnabas Hospital but the younger victim couldn’t be saved. His name was not immediately released.

The older victim is in stable condition.

The shooter has not been caught.
