Two Missouri men arrested with cache of weapons ahead of Trump rally in Kenosha

A pair of Missouri roommates arrested with a huge weapons stockpile in Wisconsin earlier this week planned “to loot and possibly pick people off” amid protests over the shooting of Jacob Blake, according to a criminal complaint.

Michael Karmo, 40, and Cody Smith, 33, both of Hartville, were taken into custody at a La Quinta hotel in Kenosha county Monday on federal charges of illegal possession of firearms.

A search of the men’s vehicle and hotel room turned up an Armory AR-15 assault rifle, a Mossberg 500 AB 12-Gauge shotgun, two handguns, a silencer, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, knives, body armor, a drone and other materials, according to the office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

Both men are prohibited from possessing firearms due to past criminal convictions.
