Two More Accuse Harvey Weinstein of Rape
The list of victims adding their names to the Hollywood scandal involving disgraced movie producer Harvey Weinstein continued to grow over the weekend as new claims of sexual misconduct, including rape, emerged in media reports from across the globe.
On Saturday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS)—the governing body that decides the prestigious Academy Awards—voted to expel Weinstein, 65, from the voting body. Weinstein produced the Oscar-winning picture Shakespeare In Love and his now-former production firm, The Weinstein Company, was responsible for distributing Oscar winners The Artist and The King’s Speech.
New accusers came forward over the weekend alleging sexual abuse and harassment by Weinstein, and police in New York and London are thought to have opened investigations into the claims.
The New York Post reported Sunday that the NYPD was investigating an alleged incident in 2004 concerning former aspiring actor Lucia Evans, who first came out against Weinstein in a New Yorker story last week.
The Metropolitan Police Service in London, meanwhile, confirmed Sunday it was investigating five accounts of sexual assault by three different women, including the British soap opera star Lysette Anthony.
The latest allegations made against Weinstein include:
Lysette Anthony
Anthony, who appears in the U.K. program Hollyoaks, told The Sunday Times newspaper that Weinstein purportedly raped her at her home in London. The pair met in 1982 and had been friends for some time when she says Weinstein attacked her in the hallway of her home.
“It was pathetic, revolting. I remember lying in the bath later and crying,” she said.

‘Sarah Smith’
A former employee of Miramax, the company Weinstein ran with brother Bob until 2005, told the Mail on Sunday that she was raped by the movie mogul in the basement of Miramax’s London offices in 1992. The woman was identified only under the pseudonym of Sarah Smith by the Mail.
“He grabbed me and he was so big and powerful. He just ripped my clothes away and pushed me, threw me down. Then…I kept shouting, ‘No! Stop!’ and tried to push him off. But he forced himself on me,” said Smith.
Samantha Panagrosso
Model Panagrosso told Variety Sunday that Weinstein allegedly harassed her during the 2003 Cannes film festival. Panagrosso was seated next to the producer at a dinner where he made advances toward her.
Later during the festival, she tells the publication, Weinstein turned up at her cabin on the yacht she was staying on and proceeded to harass her.
“He pushed me on the bed, tried groping me and I tried to play it off because I thought he’s not going to do anything because my friends are on the boat. But it got very frustrating to get him out,” said Panagrosso.
Alice Evans
British actor Alice Evans, the wife of Hollywood actor Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four), claimed on the U.K.’s Good Morning Britain program Monday that she, too, was harassed by Weinstein at a Hollywood party.
“Next thing I’m hearing is, ‘I’d like to touch your boobs. I’d like to touch your boobs, I’d like to touch you, I’d like to kiss you...Why don’t you go the bathroom and I’ll follow you,’” Evans said.
“It happened incredibly fast. He kept saying, ‘Go to the bathroom,’ and I kept trying to extricate myself.”
Weinstein's lawyer has denied allegations of non-consexual sex.
