Pedestrian fatally struck on Route 130 in Willingboro

WILLINGBORO - A pedestrian was fatally struck on a highway here and two motorists died in single-vehicle accidents in Pinelands communities over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Baljit Singh, 44, of Willingboro, was hit by a vehicle Friday night while trying to cross Route 130 near Pennypacker Drive, police said.

Singh was pronounced dead at the scene of the 8:30 p.m. accident.

The driver of the northbound vehicle stopped at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said.

"The investigation is concluded at this time and there are no charges being filed against the driver," Willingboro police said in a statement Monday.

Also on Friday, 18-year-old Andrew Needham of Bayville, Ocean County, was fatally injured in a Woodland Township crash.

Needham's car struck several trees and overturned off County Route 532 near mile post 17.2, police said.

Needham was partially ejected from his vehicle during the 7:05 a.m. accident.

In the other accident, Kyle Gormley, 28, of Tuckerton, Ocean County, died when his car hit several wooden posts and a utility pole off Route 9 in Bass River, police said.

The Thanksgiving Day crash happened around 11:20 p.m. at mile post 59.7, police said.
