Two-year-old killed in driveway, Springfield man arrested on suspicion of DWI
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a two-year-old boy was killed when he was hit by a van in a Springfield driveway Sunday morning.
Reports say Cory T. Stapp, 43, entered a driveway on Blackman Road, just east of the city and hit the child, who was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead less than an hour later.
Stapp was arrested on suspicious of driving while intoxicated resulting in the death of another person who was not a passenger. As of Sunday evening, Stapp was listed in the Greene County Jail.
