Two pedestrians killed on Manhattan sidewalk after cars collide head-on

Two pedestrians standing on a Manhattan sidewalk were killed and five others were hurt early Wednesday after two cars collided head-on, police said.

A BMW driver and Subaru driver slammed into each other on Sherman Ave. at W. 207th St. in Inwood about 4 a.m., cops said.

The BMW driver was heading uptown on Sherman Ave. while the Subaru was zipping downtown when they crashed into each other, cops said.

The impact forced the Subaru into two parked cars and then onto the sidewalk, where it hit two men, ages 31 and 32.

Medics took the men to Harlem Hospital and New York-Presbyterian Allen but they couldn’t be saved. Their names were not immediately released.

Five people in the two cars were injured, three seriously, according to 1010 WINS.

One relative, Melissa Gomez told 1010 WINS her 30-year-old cousin, who she said is a new dad, was one of the men fatally struck.

No charges were immediately filed against either driver.
