State Police searching for hit-and-run driver who left motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries

Massachusetts State Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left two people hurt early Sunday morning.

According to police, the crash involved a 2003 Honda Accord and a 2016 Honda CB300 motorcycle.

Police were called to the intersection of South St. and the Arborway across from the Forest Hills MBTA station around 2 a.m. Sunday.

When they arrived, they found both the operator of the motorcycle and their passenger had been ejected. Neither was wearing a helmet.

The passenger, a 22-year-old Boston man, was rushed to Beth Israel Hospital with life-threatening injuries. At last check, he was listed in critical condition.

The motorcycle operator, a 24-year-old Boston man, was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to state police, a Honda Accord attempted to make an illegal left turn from the Arborway to South St., colliding with the motorcycle in the eastbound lane of the Arborway.

The driver of the Accord did not stop and drove away from the scene, heading south.

Troopers are working to locate the driver and the car.

The ongoing investigation into the crash is being conducted by the State Police-Milton Barracks, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and the State Police Detective Unit for Suffolk County.
