Two people injured after SUV collides with light rail train in downtown Sacramento
Two people were injured, including one who was taken to a hospital, after an SUV collided with a Sacramento Regional Transit light rail train Wednesday morning in downtown Sacramento.
The Cadillac Escalade struck the Gold Line train at the intersection of Eighth and N streets, blocking the roads at 8:32 a.m., the Sacramento Fire Department said. The driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The intersection was cleared shortly before 10 a.m., said Capt. Justin Sylvia, a spokesman for the Sacramento Fire Department.
A rider on the train also reported minor injuries but wasn’t transported, the Fire Department and RT officials said Gold Line service was able to resume.
